I enjoyed my roles as production designer and art director (including some FX work) for this Audi video spec developed for Verus Productions.

A lot of dust and sweat went into producing at that amazing location, with which I have a deep love/hate relationship. Finding the perfect props to pop amidst a grungy backdrop, draping a massive warehouse, and playing with wind-blowers, haze, and rigging to create the perfect effects were my favorite parts of the project.

Based on the vision of the director and DP, I scouted and found this great location.

The biggest challenge was transforming this huge, fully operating warehouse into an abandoned space in record time.

Position: Production Designer/FX Production company: Verus Reference: jaykraja@gmail.com (director)

I was inspired by the graphic novel Akira for this prop with a bright pop of yellow set against the urban background. I had 3 options of colors and shapes but this one got me.

For the wardrobe of this scavenger character, I choose a 90’s teen look with saggy pants, tucked shirt, and flannel. The director particularly loved the belt made of cable cord.

For the character's big reveal, I used a wind blower and thin fishing line to simulate a strong gust of wind blowing the hood of his jacket back, revealing his face.

The manager gave us a great deal on this amazing location - only $150 daily (I think he liked me because his name is also Jose)

Moving those pallets to create a rhythm with the reds and blues required some muscle. Luckily the physical aspect of my work is one of my favorite parts!

In order to create the depth of this shot, we created several layers of image from the yellow string in the foreground to the blue and red motifs in the background.
